Each month, the Lifeline Network Serves over 45,000 callers who are in emotional distress. You can reach the Lifeline by dialing 1-800-273-TALK (8255).  Although suicide prevention is the primary mission, people cal the Lifeline for many response: Suicide thoughts, Abuse/violence, Substance abuse/addition, To help a friend of loved one, Homelessness issues, Loneliness and Family problems, Sexual orientation issues, Physical illness, and Economic problems.

Who should call?

Anyone, but especially those who feel sad, hopeless, or suicidal.  Also, family and friends who are concernced about a loved one who may be experiencing these feelings.  Anyone interested in suicide precention, treatment, and service referrals.

The service is free and confidential, the hotline is staffed by trained counselors and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Information about support services that can help you are also available.
