Youth Empowerment

Youth Focus

We believe that youth are important teachers within our society.  We are currently working with our local high school, which is Bell Gardens High Schools  (which will include three missions: Getting Connected, Youth Empowerment, Involving A Parent Summit).  Our purpose is to develop and raise awareness both on and off campus and to prevent violence and to help our youth create boundaries for themselves in order to develop healthy relationships, not only with school officials, but also with friends, families, and communities.

We conducted a youth survey and 95% our youth expressed they would like to be involved and take part in the Youth United Against Violence Group.  Those interviewed stated they would like to create their own presentations and/or workshops, becoming peer advocates/natural helpers, working throughout the community, become a multi-cultural and diverse community, and much more.

Bell Gardens youth prepares to engage in a mission for the next generation.

Creating and implementing a caring community where future generations can learn that freedoms go hand-in-hand with responsibility.

Decision making regarding neighborhood priorities to the neighborhoods themselves.

Learning from our and other communities.

With this vision, a city can become proactive, and can strive to develop a beneficial business-and social environment-to build a community that is vibrant, thriving, and responsive to its citizens.

And finally, empower the entire community, by placing some final decision-making in the hands of citizens, with the promise to neighborhoods.  "We will implement what you decide."
