Many can claim that history has no notable worth, but who is to say that one's past is not important, when it is your own story.  Especially if it is the story of where you grew up.  We currently live in a city that has seen a housing boom, and where farms use to stand as far as the eye could see, now only stand cemented city  street blocks, and commercial buildings.  To quote  George Santayana "A country without a memory is a country of madmen."  You can find a very interesting first hand account from a former resident of Bell Gardens here at this link
