Community Leader Wants to Represent the People of Bell Gardens for $1 a Year.....
When elected to the city council Marthaanne will contribute her entire salary to an education fund for the youth of Bell Gardens, giving our youth the opportunity to receive a fair and adequate education.
In the past six (6) years, Marthaanne has worked with the students at Bell Gardens High School, School Site Council, School Administrators, and Montebello Unified school district (MUSD) Board members and has been a witness to the financial hardship our community faces when it comes to paying for a college education.
Marthaanne is a strong supporter of several clubs at Bell Gardens High School. She quickly learned that sponsoring clubs is just not enough. For this reason, she will pledge her entire council salary to an educational fund and provide scholarships to the youth of Bell Gardens..
